We’re settling in – Tweed Heads Seagulls Hub
We are delighted to report that our first day at the new Tweed Heads Seagulls Hub went very well. Our customers experienced minimal disruption or challenges which can be associated with change and this is a credit to the extensive preparation the team implemented, not only on our first day but also in the weeks leading up to the move. Customers are already experiencing positive outcomes with groups spending increased time participating in the community and reduced wait/down times. Gold Coast Seniors Health and Lifestyle Expo
Aged Care Manager, Beverly Smallmon had the perfect opportunity to showcase Aged Care Services at the Gold Coast Seniors Health and Lifestyle Expo that was held in the Palm Beach Share N Care Centre on Thursday March 15, 2018. Our display was festooned with Lifebridge balloons, beautiful coloured posters of our Aged Care customers, our marketing merchandise and with the added chance to win a Lifestyle Hamper valued at over $200.00, it was one of the most popular exhibits at the Expo. Community Participation – Cooly Rocks On and Murwillumbah Banana Festivals
Lifebridge and Us the Band will once again be participating in both the Cooly Rocks On and the Murwillumbah Banana Festival Street Parades for 2018. The Cooly Rocks On Festival has evolved to become Australia’s largest rock ‘n’ roll and nostalgia festival and last year Lifebridge won the title of best float in the street parade. For this year’s parade, which will be held on June 9, 2018, the Lifebridge theme is Jail House Rock for all you Elvis wannabes out there. Our Movements, A Quick Recap
As you may be aware, on March 31, 2018 Lifebridge Australia officially transitioned out of our Caloola premises (56 Caloola Drive, Tweed Heads) and shifted to a community integrated Hubs model of service delivery. This service model seeks to reduce travel times for our customers and additionally ensures that programs, activities and general day-to-day is all within the local community environment. Public Holidays and Cancelation of Service
When it comes to Public Holidays and the provision of support, there is still a little bit of confusion as to how it all works. The following information seeks to clarify any confusion. We have also included below the public holiday dates for the rest of the year for your information. Aged Care Services Aged Care Services group programs do not operate on public holidays. All Aged Care Commonwealth Home Support Services including flexible respite, social support and domestic assistance are cancelled on public holidays. Respecting your Privacy
You may be aware that the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Bill 2016 became law on February 23, 2018. This amendment establishes a mandatory data breach notification scheme in Australia that requires all entities subject to the Privacy Act to notify the Office of the Australia Information Commissioner (OAIC) and individuals who may be affected in the event of a data breach. To put it simply, if someone gains unauthorized access to data stored on Lifebridge Australia’s systems that contains personal and sensitive information, Lifebridge Australia is required to notify both the OAIC and the people whose information was accessed.
