Lifebridge CEO Update Nov/Dec 2017
2017 is drawing to a close and the reforms have commenced! Overall it has been a successful year for Lifebridge. The NDIS and Home Care Packages have been launched and for most of our customers this has proven to be a positive thing. As you would all be aware we have been planning and preparing for the NDIS and Aged Care reforms for some time now. This has placed us in a very strong position. To date there have been very few surprises that we have not been able to manage. The transition to NDIS means that Lifebridge will no longer receive government block funding (ADHC) where all services were heavily subsidised.…

CEO Update – October 2017
The transition to NDIS and Home Care Packages continues and with it our progression to creating more community based activities. The commencement of renovations to the Kingscliff administration centre will begin from November 6, 2017. The Aged Care staff are well on their way with setting up alternate work stations in the Cottage with some staff already operating from this location. Please note, this will have no impact on existing services. Overall Lifebridge is extremely excited about the renovations and the changes to our support services both in Aged Care and Disability Services. As more people transition to the NDIS, more programs will become community based and more community partnerships…

CEO Update – September 2017
The transition to NDIS and Home Care Packages continues and with it our progression to creating more community based activities. The commencement of renovations to Kingscliff has been rescheduled for later in the year. As we have previously stated the changes to the Kingscliff site will have no impact on service delivery for the Cottage and other aged care programs. Staff at Disability Services have also been working toward moving more of our programs out of Caloola and into the community. In October, we will be launching a revamped and expanded HUB at Chinderah with the intention of opening a third HUB at Ocean Shores by end of year. In parallel,…

CEO Update – July 2017
Almost one month into the NDIS and Lifebridge is beginning to see some activity. I would like to thank those customers who have contacted Lifebridge when you have received your NDIS plan. It is critical that you let us know when you have a plan. Lifebridge cannot provide service to you without a new signed service agreement. The sooner you notify Lifebridge the quicker we can meet with you to negotiate the terms of the agreement all of which will ensure a smooth transition from ADHC to the NDIS. These are very exciting times and hold the potential for exploring new opportunities. Over the coming years, Lifebridge looks forward to…

Cooly Rocks On Parade Winners
On Saturday 12th June, 2017 Lifebridge once again participated in the Cooly Rocks on Street Parade. Our float, themed on Elvis and Blue Hawaii was alive and vibrant with colour from front to back. On the front of the truck, ‘Aloha from Lifebridge’ greeted the public as we wove our way through the parade. A waterfall cascaded down over the back of the cab, the sides festooned with flowers, ‘Celebrating 30 years’ proudly on display and a giant teddy bear waving to the crowd. Add “Us the Band” belting out some rockin’ tunes, 30 or so customers walking alongside, resplendent in 50’s inspired clothing and presto, we had a float…
