Lifebridge CEO Update Nov/Dec 2017

2017 is drawing to a close and the reforms have commenced!  Overall it has been a successful year for Lifebridge.

The NDIS and Home Care Packages have been launched and for most of our customers this has proven to be a positive thing.  As you would all be aware we have been planning and preparing for the NDIS and Aged Care reforms for some time now. This has placed us in a very strong position. To date there have been very few surprises that we have not been able to manage.

The transition to NDIS means that Lifebridge will no longer receive government block funding (ADHC) where all services were heavily subsidised. From here on in, Lifebridge will only receive payment for services delivered.  This has required Lifebridge to change its business model which includes systems and work practices and restructuring. Although this can be a difficult process whilst transitioning, becoming a more efficient and effective service is a very positive thing and in the best interest of our customers.

In response to some of the changes being made I have heard rumours within the community that Lifebridge is closing or shutting down its day programs.  I want to reassure our customers that the changes being implemented do not mean that Lifebridge is about to close. Quite the opposite. Lifebridge is investing in significant change as we believe and know we have a bright future and a lot to offer the local community for many years to come.

Please rest assured that for both Home Care Packages and NDIS, the changes that Lifebridge is making is to provide you with a contemporary, sustainable service that meets your needs.  We are also here to assist you to navigate this new environment and work out what needs to be done. Please remember to stay connected with the Lifebridge Team and together we will manage any twist and turns.

I look forward to working on your behalf in 2018 as we continue to transition and ensure that the reforms work in your very best interest. There is still a lot of work to be done however, together, we can make it work.  On that note I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and the brightest of New Years. May you spend Christmas in a way that brings you joy and may the New Year see your goals and aspirations come to life.

On behalf of Lifebridge, and from me personally – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
